About the PRO-WEST
The Professional Western Rodeo Association (PRO-WEST) is an association of professional cowboys, cowgirls and rodeo committees that sanction rodeos throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. PRO-WEST represents decades of rodeo experience, the predecessor of the present day PRO-WEST. The Washington Rodeo Association was formed by a small group of rodeo contestants and stock contractors in 1967. Today under a governing Board of Directors, PRO-WEST ranks have grown to a membership of over 700 members. Cowboys and cowgirls are competing for over $1,250,000 in prize money at 85 PRO-WEST sanctioned and co-approved rodeos in 2007!
Professionalism
The PRO-WEST believes in our membership - in their ability as contestants, stock contractors and the different rodeo associations for their professionalism and their integrity.
The PRO-WEST expects - and enforces - high standards of conduct from its members. We believe our members are some of the world's finest athletes. PRO-WEST rodeos match these athletes against some of the best and toughest rodeo livestock in the west.
The PRO-WEST expects the same kind of professionalism from the stock as they do the members. Our association has just as many rules and regulations to protect the livestock as they do the contestants. PRO-WEST stock contractors consistently offer spectators the best rodeo livestock available.
This combination of top rodeo athletes and rank stock adds up to the unparalleled excitement of America's most dangerous and exciting sport "RODEO".
PRO-WEST provides teams of professional judges and timers to rodeos throughout the association. Fully trained, these officials bring levels of expertise and professionalism formerly enjoyed by major team sports.
Tradition
Rodeo is a part of our western heritage. The PRO-WEST brings 34 years of experience to the production of rodeo in the Northwest. So with years of experience mixed with our American heritage we are getting the opportunity to bring to life something that could have been lost years ago
