 Thank you,

 Jennifer L. Casey-Pro-West President

From the Secretary:

It is here….rodeo season 2012!!  We have lots going on in the Pro-West, Northwest, and even Nation, but rodeo season will make everything seem a whole lot better!!

First off I went to send heartfelt condolences to the family of LaDawn Dodd.  She will be missed by many in all aspects of the rodeo world.   She was an amazing person, loved by many, and I know we will think of her often.

Huge thanks to the Ridge Riders of Grand Coulee for the use of the club house on the Grand Coulee Rodeo grounds for our committee meeting.  The chairs were very comfortable, and the room warm, on such a snowy and cold day!  We appreciate your hospitality.  Thanks to the Hosts, Deb Achord and Bob Shrauger for the great lunch.  Thanks to Kelly Haptonstall for enough desserts to feed a small army and they were all delicious!!  And of course, thanks to Janet O’Neil for always lending a hand, helping with set up, food, clean up, you are awesome.

Lynnette McMillan, convention 2012 chairman, wants to invite all committees to send any past pictures, information, videos, that they may want to share regarding their rodeos to her as soon as you can get it together.  Her theme is going to be honoring the committees Saturday night during the banquet, and it is going to be a great time, any help or ideas of how you would like to see your rodeo displayed is welcome!!  The convention is going to be the second weekend in November.

The judges and timers committee held the annual seminar March 10th and 11th.  Huge thanks to Fred Brown for the use of his indoor arena.  It is a beautiful facility, and it was really nice for the judges to be able and really run events, flag, talk through scenarios, and the timers to be able to chat with the flaggers, say what works, what doesn’t, made for a very successful workshop.  So thanks Fred so much!!!   Thanks also to Jake Stevens for running the classroom portion, and instructing during the arena work.  We appreciate your willingness to help us out.

Remember to get those memberships into the office before entry day to save you time and confusion on the day of entry.  If you are already in the computer when you go to enter the process will be pretty easy.

Read the rodeo notices carefully.  We do have some enter twice team roping rodeos, as well as some changes in fees, etc.  It is also good to know if you need to have cash to get into the gate to be reimbursed, where you will be parking, all that sort of information, most of the time a local contact is listed, so if you have any questions before you get to the rodeo you can give them a call.

The ground secretaries have asked to post their cell phone numbers this year in case you need to get in touch with them, but please remember that unless you send the fees to the rodeo to be included in the payout, the turnout fine is $50.00, even if you call, it all depends on the fees to avoid the $50.00.

Good Luck to all our Pro-West Competitors as you head out this spring.  It is a great year to be a cowboy!

Until Next Time,  Julie
